Tips For A More Effective Integration of Your Chiropractic Adjustments

Do not try--just be.  Allow your own experience to unfold, while on the table, and in your life.  Participate in your healing journey.

Close your eyes and relax during your adjustment.  Let your awareness be inside, as this is a time for you.  Your attention to yourself is part of your healing.  If you want to open your eyes and look around--notice that.  Notice that you want to be distracted by what's happening around you.  Just notice it and then close your eyes and pay attention to what's happening inside.

Wear comfortable non-restrictive clothing so you are free to move and breathe.  Avoid jeans and pants with heavy seams as this interferes with the chiropractor's ability to feel your spine.

Have awareness of your breath.  Notice where you are restricted in your breath, where your breath is open, and notice any changes in your breathing--deep breaths, sighs, fast breaking, etc.  There is nothing to do with your breathing except to notice it.

Plan your visit so that you have not eaten a heavy meal or consumed alcohol just prior to your adjustment.  This will allow your body and nervous system to be solely focused on your adjustment and healing process.

Look for the miracles in your life outside of the adjusting room.

Read and listen to people who talk about healing and living life fully.

Listen to the commonly unheard, feel the commonly unfelt, and look within for the commonly unseen.  Healing involves growing beyond your usual frames of reference and consciousness.

Know that the process of healing is often uncomfortable, but it is worth it.

Recognize that change will occur in your body-mind as a result of your adjustments and your healing process.  You are the solution.
